LAST EVENT AXPONA - APRIL 14-17 The AXPONA show was quite a busy success. A steady stream of interested audiophiles found our double demo rooms and listened to some great gear and great music. The Linn/Tannoy room had the stunning Klimax DS feeding the Klimax preamp. The Tannoy Definition DC8T speakers held up well to the significantly more expensive front end in the questionable environment of a hotel room. The Naim/Totem room had the NDX/555PS source feeding a NAC 252 into new Totem Element Metal speakers. The sound was great, but that room robbed the bass in the listening positions. Only near the rear boundaries could one get an idea of the amazing dynamics of these speakers with their custom made direct drive woofers. Vinyl was available and popular in both rooms, with LP12/Lyra doing the spinning duties in both. Thousands of tunes were available on our server farm to the network players.
We met lots of new faces who now know we are here, and many familiar ones who had lost touch. Thanks to all for coming, and please call with any questions.
SUNDAY, JUNE 13th Sunday was a great visit with the Audio Video Club of Atlanta. We had a chance to proselytize about digital streaming and our ideas for a satisfactory experience with it. While demonstrating how great the Linn Akurate DS sounds, along with some other things, everyone heard some good music – both the members’ and ours.
